Reinforcing social justice, good governance and improving Morocco’s international relations are some of the goals which the Justice and Development party would work to achieve if it is selected in the upcoming elections.

The party’s Secretary-General Abdelilah Benkirane announced yesterday that the movement has five goals which it hopes to achieve if it is chosen to head the government after the elections on 7 October.

In a statement Benkirane said the aims were “reinforcing transition to new development sources as well as reinforcing economic competition, evaluating human resources and preserving citizens’ dignity, reinforcing social justice, reinforcing good governance and reformation and improving Morocco’s international relations.”

Benkirane recognised that there are problems in the country related to “weakness of economic competition, international relations, education sector and wide gaps among social castes.”

About 30 Moroccan parties are taking part in the elections.
