Trump Junior compares Syrian refugees to poisonous sweets

September 20, 2016 at 1:08 pm

Republican US presidential candidate Donald Trump’s son proved today that he is following in his father’s footsteps when he tweeted an image of the popular children’s sweets “Skittles” and wrote: “If I had a bowl of skittles and I told you just three would kill you. Would you take a handful? That’s our Syrian refugee problem.”

The 38-year-old added later that the image says it all. “Let’s end the politically correct agenda that doesn’t put America first. #trump2016.”

Trump’s father has called for an end to the acceptance of refugees from Syria as well as “extreme vetting” of immigrants.

The makers of Skittles commented: “Skittles are candy. Refugees are people. We don’t feel it’s an appropriate analogy.”
