UAE and Jordanian pilots ‘flying in Libya for renegade Haftar’

Air force pilots from the UAE and Jordan are flying in support of renegade General Khalifa Haftar in attacking Libyan targets, NewKhalij.org has reported.

The news site quoted Colonel Salim Al-Warfally, who answered his own rhetorical question on Twitter — “What are Jordanian pilots doing in Libya?” — by revealing that, “Briefly, they take part in undermining that revolution and helping Haftar in his war against the rebels under the pretext of fighting terror and achieving security.”

In another tweet, Warfally claimed that Haftar’s control of the oil districts is intended to bring the Libyan people to their knees by controlling their wealth and distributing it according to his own agenda. He called on UAE leader Shaikh Mohamed Bin Zayid to withdraw pilots from his air force who are also, it is alleged, operating over Libya in support of Haftar.

On a separate but related issue, the Libyan colonel insisted that disgraced Palestinian Fatah official Mohamed Dahlan should keep out of Libya’s affairs. Expressing his surprise about Dahlan seeking to harm Libyans, Warfally pointed out, “We have never harmed the Palestinian brothers.”
