Houthis shoot down Saudi drone

September 26, 2016 at 3:38 pm

Yemeni militia forces have shot down a Saudi drone yesterday on an espionage mission in the country’s airspace, according to the Houthi controlled Al-Masirah television station.

The spy drone was brought down in the central west province of Sana’a. It is unclear whether the drone was spying against the militia forces or if it was assisting local resistance forces to recapture the country’s capital Sana’a.

Meanwhile, Saudi airstrikes killed dozens of civilians in different provinces across Yemen since late last week; including seven in Ibb and 26 in Hodeidah as the battle for Sana’a continues.

Reports show that Saudi warplanes were targeting military targets in Sana’a, Ibb and Hodeidah. Military bases across the Baqim district in the Houthi heartland Sa’ada were also targeted.
