Syrian fighter jets attacked a UN aid convoy in opposition held territory in the Al-Rastan district, Sky News Arabic reported earlier today.
The convoy of 36 trucks, which was loaded with food and medical supplies from the UN and accompanied by a delegation from the Syrian Red Crescent, was forced to retreat fearing a similar attack to the one that took place last week in Aleppo.
The UN had resumed aid supplies to besieged towns and cities following international condemnation against the attack in Aleppo last week. No one has taken responsibility for last week’s attack although fingers have been pointed at Russia.
