Dozens of female Palestinian artists held their artwork up at the Gaza port to welcome women on board the Zaytouna and Amal ships which hope to break the siege of Gaza.

The event, entitled “Draw for Freedom… The olive branch of hope”, was organised by the International Campaign to Support the Women’s Boat, in cooperation with Al-Marsam atelier.

The artwork is a message from women in Gaza to welcome the peace activists on board the boats. They included doves of peace hoping to be released from the injustice of the occupation, and highlight the fact that the people who have lived under Israel’s stifling ten-year long siege long for freedom and liberty from oppression and suffering.

Many women’s organisations still hold exhibitions and stand at the Gaza port to show their gratitude and appreciation to all those who are in solidarity with them and make moves to break the siege, no matter how small.
