Israeli practices in occupied East Jerusalem are blatant forms of racial discrimination, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today.

Israeli occupation forces set up closures and military checkpoints in East Jerusalem, hindering the movement of its residents, the ministry said.

The Palestinian Authority body called on the Arab and Muslim worlds to protect Palestinians from  the brutality of the occupation.

It called on all those who have signed the Geneva Convention to take responsibility and act in the face of this aggression, to compel Israel, as an occupying power, to abide by the rules of the agreement and cease its abuses in the sacred city.
