Five people have been killed and at least 20 others were injured after two devices exploded in a funeral tent in the Yemeni city of Marib, AlKhaleejOnline.com reported yesterday.
Eyewitnesses said that the explosions happened while people were giving their condolences to the family and relatives of Field Marshal Abdul-Rab Al-Shaddady, who was killed a week ago during clashes with the Houthi rebels.
The victims were taken to the local hospital in Marib. A hospital source said that the field marshal’s brother was among the dead.
No party has claimed responsibility for the attacks, which came only one week after similar explosions at the funeral of the Houthi interior minister’s father in Sana’a. The Houthis said 82 died in the Saudi airstrike.
