Saudi citizen killed in Egypt

October 15, 2016 at 11:20 am

Egyptian police found the body of a Saudi citizen on Thursday in his apartment in Giza. Marks on the body suggested that the victim had been beaten and strangled, Almesryoon.com reported.

Al-Giza Police Director Major General Hisham Al-Iraqi said that his officers were told about the bad smell coming from the apartment of the man identified as Khalil Al-Omayrini, aged 47. Given the state of decomposition of the body, it is probable that death occurred two or more weeks ago.

The police have now opened an investigation and are set to question all residents within the same building, as well as known visitors. An autopsy will be carried out to determine the exact cause of death.

In April, unknown assailants kidnapped Saudi businessman Hassan Ali Ahmed Al-Sanad and his driver in Egypt. Last October, a Saudi woman disappeared in Cairo a week after Egyptian police revealed that they had found another Saudi woman and her Kuwaiti daughter dead inside a well in Upper Egypt.
