Israeli settlers in the illegal settlement of Ariel continue digging graves in the area behind the Separation Wall in the city of Salfit, Arab84 reported yesterday.

Eyewitnesses reported to Arab48 that settlers from the second largest illegal Israeli settlement in the occupied West Bank dug many new graves, noting that there are now 180 in Salfit.

Researcher Khalid Maali said that burying dead Jewish settlers in Salfit, which is identified by international law as occupied land, is a “clear violation” of international humanitarian law and all the other international conventions which ban settlements.

Maali added that the practice of burying settlers in the area proves that Israel has no plans to withdrawn from the area in any negotiations.

He noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made this clear a couple of days ago when he said that the settlements of Ariel, Etzion, Ma’ale Adumim and Beit El would be annexed to Israel in any final-status negotiations.
