Kuwait yesterday promised to increase investment projects in Jordan, the Jordan Times reported.

In a letter, the Emir of Kuwait indicated that the Kuwaiti Investment Authority will contribute to economic projects in Jordan.

Kuwait’s foreign minister is due to visit Jordan to evaluate the projects that are offered for investment.

Yesterday, Jordan’s Senate President Faisal Fayez met with Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al Hamad Al Sabah in Kuwait City. Fayez made clear Jordan’s solidarity with the GCC in regards to Iranian intervention in the region.

He urged Kuwait and the rest of the GCC to boost the strategic partnership, which would serve their mutual security interests to promote stability.

He then insisted the GCC renew the oil grant to Jordan, and pressed on Kuwaiti officials to help achieve this.

Thus far, according to official figures, Kuwaiti investment projects in Jordan have totalled $12 billion.
