Settlers perform religious rites in Arab streets in occupied Hebron

October 20, 2016 at 11:21 am

Palestinian shops and homes in the Old City of Hebron were closed by Israeli occupation forces yesterday to allow for Jewish settlers to perform religious rituals, Arab48 reported.

During the fourth day of the Jewish Sukkot, a large number of the Israeli occupation forces raided the West Bank city and broke into Beer Al-Saba Street in the neighbourhood of Bab Al-Zawiyeh in the centre of the Old City.

According to Arab48, the Israeli occupation forces turned the area into a “military base” as they closed Palestinian shops and homes to allow the Jewish settler to reach an old Palestinian house they claim is a religious Jewish site.

So far this month, Israeli forces have closed the Ibrahimi Mosque to Muslim worshipers for six days in order to allow Jewish settlers access to the whole area.
