Bahrain is the Arab country that offers the best prospects for young people, according to a global youth development index compiled by the UK Commonwealth Secretariat.

According to the survey, that included 183 countries, Bahrain came in first place among Arab countries and 41st internationally. Saudi Arabia ranked second in the Arab world and 54th globally, while Kuwait ranked 56th, Qatar ranked 75th, Oman ranked 99th and the UAE 107th.

The survey revealed that Germany is the best country to offer future opportunities for young people. Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper (FAZ) said that the FCO has studied the life conditions of young people between the ages of 15 and 29 in 183 countries.

The ranking was based on 18 indicators in five subjects including employment, education, health, political participation and civil initiatives. The UK government was guided by the United Nations’ Global Youth Development Indicators.
