The Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid Bin Daghr has accused Tehran of training 6,000 gunmen of Houthis in Iran and Lebanon. This came during a meeting Thursday in Riyadh with the French ambassador to Yemen, Christian Tsu, according to Yemen’s official News Agency (SABA).

Bin Daghr stressed that “The Yemeni government were not with war but Houthi militia imposed it on all Yemenis when it moved its arms from Saada to the rest of the provinces, killing people and blew up the houses”.

He explained that the war didn’t start on 26 March of the last year, adding that it began since Houthis carried arms against their political opponents and the state, with Iranian clear and effective support. The head of the Yemeni government accused Iranian authorities of sending experts and the training of nearly 6,000 Houthi fighters in Iran and Lebanon.

He pointed out that the world will realise later that the Houthi rebels are a real problem not only on Yemen but on the region and the world. “We are searching for a lasting peace according to the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanisms, Security Council resolution 2216 and the outputs of the national dialogue”, Bin Dagher said.
