UNRWA to distribute funds to 300 Gaza families

UNRWA announced yesterday that it will be distributing $1.46 million for reconstruction projects in the Gaza Strip, with $1 million being spent on reconstruction and a further $462,200 being used for repair works.

Some 299 families will benefit from the fund across the Gaza Strip, UNRWA said, adding that the subsidies will be paid to families this week.

UNRWA is also distributing the third quarter’s rental subsidy payment of $4.5 million to cover the period from July to September. The funds will benefit 6,500 refugee families across the besieged enclave.

The agency pointed out that its Emergency Shelter Programme is its top priority but that it requires new funds to help those most in need.
