Egypt is increasing security ahead of a football game which sees Ghana play the national team after authorities reportedly received threats against the Israeli Ghana coach.

The game, due to take place on 13 November in the coastal town of Alexandria, is a FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The Egypt Football Association has reportedly received a number of threats ahead of the game with fans calling on authorities to ban the 61-year-old coach from entering the country.

“They plan to hurt him with several attacks and chants and be rude to him and they want him not come into Egyptian land because people don’t like him around,” a source at the football association told Ghanaian online portal Sports Obama.
