Egypt’s public prosecutor has revealed details of two alleged attempts to assassinate President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and the Saudi Crown Prince Nayef Bin Salman, Masalarabia.com reported yesterday.

Public Prosecutor Nabil Sadeq said in a statement that the investigations into the assassination attempts revealed that one of them was to be carried out in Saudi Arabia.

Sadeq claimed that the cell which planned to assassinate Al-Sisi consisted of six army and police officers and a dentist.

He noted that Karim Mohamed Hamza, one of the suspects, belonged to a takfirist group which believes in murdering the ruler and his aides because they do not implement Sharia Law.

In addition, Hamza intended to join Wilayat Sinai, a group which is affiliated to Daesh.

The statement said that the dentist, Ali Ibrahim Hassan, planned to assassinate the Saudi prince, adding that the wife of one of the suspects suggested she become a suicide bomber.
