Kuwait has announced it is ready to arrange treatment for those injured during the ongoing military operations in Mosul, Iraq, Kuwait’s General Consul to Erbil Omar Al-Kanderi said.

According to the Kuwait News Agency, Al-Kanderi announced the Gulf state is currently co-ordinating efforts with Iraqi leaders and private hospitals in Mosul to send money and aid to facilitate the treatment of civilians.

One wounded civilian living in Mosul told the Kuwait News Agency that he was injured in a car bomb explosion carried out by Daesh. Mazen Ahmad said he survived the attack and is one of a number of civilians receiving treatment with the financial aid of Kuwaiti authorities.

This is a part of the “Kuwait by your side” campaign, which was initiated by the Kuwaiti government to help internally displaced Iraqis in war torn areas of the country. The campaign was initiated on 22 October, four days after the Iraqi operation to liberate Mosul from Daesh officially started.
