Israeli army sirens heard near border with Lebanon

December 7, 2016 at 11:57 am

The Israeli army yesterday activated alert sirens in the Al-Abbasiyah, Wazzani area, south of Lebanon.

The Lebanese news agency said the sirens were heard in conjunction with a series of explosions in the southern tip of the occupied Shebaa Farms. No further details were given.

The agency said an Israeli bulldozer carried out maintenance work on a road off the southern town of Kafr Kila as an Israeli army Hummer and a number of Israeli soldiers protected the workers.

Israel occupied the Lebanese Shebaa Farms in 1967. The area is at the intersection of the Lebanese-Syrian border and the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
