The United Nations special envoy for Syria Jan Egeland does not seem to have the right information about the situation in Aleppo, a Kremlin official has said.

“It seems that Mr Egeland does not have information on what is happening in Aleppo otherwise he would pay attention to atrocities perpetrated by terrorist groups. The fact that he does not mention it unfortunately evidences that he does not have information on what the reality is like in Syria and Aleppo,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said yesterday.

On Monday, in a post on his official Twitter account, Egeland accused both Russia and Syria of being responsible for atrocities perpetrated by “victorious militiamen” who were taking part in the operation to liberate Aleppo.
