The security of Yemen is an integral part of Saudi Arabia’s security, King Salman said, adding that the kingdom will not allow others to interfer in its affairs.

Speaking during the opening of the seventh session of the Shura Council in the capital Riyadh, King Salman stressed his refusal to interfere in Yemen’s internal affairs and said: “We see the security of our dear neighbour, Yemen, as part of the kingdom’s security, and we will not accept any interference in its internal affairs, or its legitimacy or make it a base or corridor for other countries or entities targeting the security of the kingdom or the region.”

The king said he hopes the United Nations efforts to reach a political solution in Yemen, according to UN Security Council Resolution 2216, the Gulf initiative, and outputs of the national dialogue conference would succeed.

He also stressed that “a political solution to international crises is the best option to achieve the people’s aspirations for peace.”
