Nearly 274 rulings were issued by Egypt’s Supreme Administrative Court in favour of Muslim Brotherhood supporters invalidating rulings to seize the assets of the group’s members, a judicial source has revealed.

The source added that the Egyptian judiciary committee assessing Muslim Brotherhood funds, headed by Mohamed Yasser Abu El-Fotouh, received nearly 274 rulings from the court invalidating the rulings it issued in the past to seize the group’s assets, according to Shorouk newspaper.

The source added that the ruling were issued between 2014 and the present day. They added that one of the most prominent rulings was that issued in favour of footballer Mohamed Aboutrika, invalidating the decision to seize his money and property in April 2015.

The committee is awaiting a ruling by the Supreme Constitutional Court to resolve the conflict between the Administrative Court and the Court of Urgent Matters and to determine who will be tasked with looking into the cases regarding the invalidity of the rulings, the source explained. The Supreme Court’s ruling is scheduled to be issued on 14 January.
