Dahlan calls on Fatah to stop coordination with Israel

January 2, 2017 at 11:01 am

The former Fatah security official Mohammed Dahlan has called on the movement to stop all communication with the Israeli occupation because the latter has not fulfilled its obligations. He made his comments on Kufiya TV, including his call for a “national salvation plan” to start with the immediate implementation of UN Resolution 2334 on the state of Palestine, and to stop all forms of negotiations with the occupying power.

Dahlan also called for coordination with the Arab Group to submit a draft resolution to the UN Security Council that includes a mechanism to accept Palestine in the United Nations General Assembly. Although his parliamentary immunity was removed by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Dahlan pointed out that Palestine’s legislative institutions cannot remain inactive due to one man’s whims.

Dismissing the decisions taken at Fatah’s 7th Conference last month, the former official called for all Palestinians factions to be included within the Palestinian National Council, including Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
