One day after the truck attack against Israeli soldiers in Jerusalem, a journalist has called for all of the military personnel who fled from the scene to be dismissed from the army, Safa news agency reported on Monday.

Four soldiers were killed and 15 were wounded when a lorry driven by a Palestinian was driven into a crowd of army personnel. Around 300 soldiers armed with M16 rifles fled from the scene, it is alleged.

Speaking live on Israeli TV, journalist Kalman Liebskind criticised the soldiers who ran away without opening fire at the truck driver. He described the sight of about 300 soldiers fleeing without taking action against the attacker as “the most disgraceful scene for the Israeli army since it was established.” The officers and soldiers involved “must be sacked,” he added.
