Three police officers were killed and three others injured in a terror attack in the Sur district of Turkey’s southeastern Diyarbakir province on Monday, according to a security source.
Explosives planted by PKK terrorists blew up as a police vehicle was passing by near an excavation site at the Dicle University campus, said the source who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
The injured were rushed to nearby Dicle University Hospital; two of them died on the way.
Three others are still at the hospital – one is in critical condition – said hospital sources.
Police are conducting an investigation at the scene.
