The employment rate of Saudi Arabian college and technical institute graduates with disabilities has reached 92.7 per cent in the public and private sectors, an official from the Saudi Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) has announced.

According to Fahd Al-Otaibi, the private sector employs 79.1 percent of people with disabilities while the public sector employs 10.4 per cent. Around 3.2 per cent of people with disabilities have their own businesses.

Al-Otaibi stressed that his organisation is keen to provide suitable training programmes for disabled people in a suitable environment that is equipped with appropriate facilities. Elevators and designated parking spaces would feature, in addition to the hiring of specialist trainers.

The TVTC, the spokesman added, is also working to expand the training of people with disabilities through online programmes covering a variety of subjects.
