Houthis bomb UN building in Saudi Arabia’s Dhahran Al-Janoub

The Houthi militia in Yemen bombed a building that belongs to the United Nations in Dhahran Al-Janoub, in Asir Region in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Defence Ministry announced on Monday.

The ministry said that the building belongs to the UN’s De-escalation and Coordination Committee.

Rockets fired by the Houthis damaged the front of the UN building, shattering its glass and harming some of the reception’s equipment. Shrapnel also damanged the building’s wall.

This comes after the Saudi-led Arab coalition against Houthis had announced that the Royal Saudi Air Defence Forces intercepted a rocket launched by the Houthi militias from Yemeni territory.

Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that the rocket was launched toward the city of Najran, but it was destroyed in the sky without sign of any damage.

Last year, Houthi militia fired several missiles towards Saudi territory. One missile was launched toward the holy Muslim city of Mekkah, sparking wide outrage and condemnations among Muslim countries.
