Mujtaba Dhunnour, Iranian parliamentarian and a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee member in the Iranian Shura Council, has threatened the US saying that there are 36 American military bases within the range of Iranian missiles.

Dhunnour went on to say in a speech he delivered on Saturday in the city of Qom: "Should America commit any act of stupidity we would obliterate the Fifth American Fleet that is stationed in Bahrain." The remarks were quoted by the Iranian Fars News Agency.

He went on to say that the defence budget of the US last year reached more than $650 billion. In contrast, Iran's entire budget was just $100 billion.

The Iranian parliamentarian explained that his country "adopts the strategy of unequal war" and that in the field of missiles it has made great accomplishments, "so if the enemy chooses to fire a missile in Iran's direction before this missile hits its target Tel Aviv will be scorched with an Iranian missile."

He went on to say: "In fact, this is not a mere slogan because an Iranian rocket would only take 7 minutes to reach Tel Aviv."

Dhunnour added that the 36 American bases in the region are within the range of Iranian missile system and once "the enemy commits any stupid mistake they will be wiped out."
