Assad: One drop of Russian blood more valuable than anything else

February 9, 2017 at 11:18 am

Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad said yesterday that “one drop of Russian soldier’s blood” is more important for Syria than any military support.

According to the Russian news agency Sputnik, speaking during a meeting with a delegation of Russian lawmakers, Assad added: “Of course, military support is very important. But even one drop of blood of Russian soldiers who died in our country is more important for us than any military support. This blood, Russian blood that is spilled on our land, cannot be counted with money.”

The president said that events are moving forward according to Russia and Syria’s desire.

Assad thanked Russian pilots who he said are working alongside the Syrian army in the fight against terrorism.

Nearly half a million Syrians have been killed while millions were wounded or displaced since the outbreak of events in Syria in 2011.
