A Palestinian official revealed that the President of the Palestinian Authority (PA) Mahmoud Abbas met with CIA chief Mike Pompeo on Tuesday in Ramallah. The meeting was held without media coverage.

The Palestinian official refused to give details of the meeting, apart from describing it as “positive and warm”.

He added: “During the meeting, which was attended by several Palestinian officials, President Abbas stressed his commitment to the two-state solution and warned against the danger of Israel’s actions on the ground.”

The official also noted that “domestic and regional developments were presented during the meeting.”

The meeting is believed to be related to the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu held yesterday.

Israeli media outlets quoted an anonymous senior White House source saying, on Tuesday, that President Donald Trump supports peace between Israel and the PA, but does not insist on a two-state solution.
