Military sources loyal to Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi announced today that they had taken control of new sites in the Taiz province.

The official government news agency SABA quoted sources, whose identities it did not reveal, saying that the National Army and popular resistance forces loyal to Hadi captured a number of sites to the west of the city of Taiz.

Opinion: Yemen’s Saleh has never been gone in order to ‘return’ to the political scene

An attack had been launched on Houthi targets and those of forces loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, the sources explained, adding that the battles lasted several hours.

Clashes are ongoing between the two sides on the road linking Mokha and Al-Koka, in the west of Taiz province.

The Houthis do not announce information of their loses.
