Taking a shot at art in Syria

Mustafa hopes to convey the Syrian people's love of life and hopes for peace

A Syrian man has been turning ammunition into art for over four years. By piecing together empty bullet casings on leather belts at his work shop in the town of Douma and turning them into decorative sculptures, Mustafa hopes to convey the Syrian people’s love of life and hopes for peace.

Douma was a major flash point of demonstrations against the Syrian regime in 2011. It has been under siege by Assad’s forces for almost four years.
