At least three Egyptian soldiers were killed and another four injured today when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in the Sinai Peninsula, a security source said.

The source, who spoke to the Anadolu Agency anonymously due to restrictions on speaking to media, said the blast had left three soldiers dead and another four seriously injured.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident, while the Egyptian government has yet to officially comment.

The northern Sinai Peninsula has suffered a number of terrorist attacks since Egypt’s first democratically President Mohamed Morsi was ousted in a 2013 military coup.
