Lebanese Defence Minister Yacoub Al-Sarraf yesterday denied that he had been in touch with his Israeli counterpart Avigdor Lieberman, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed reported.

The news site reported Al-Sarraf saying, “I completely deny” the news reported by the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth about claimed contacts with Lieberman.

Yedioth Ahronoth claimed that Lieberman, who is currently taking part in the International Security Conference in Munich, sat next to the Lebanese defence minister and they spoke briefly.

The Israeli newspaper said that “when the photographers noticed the two ministers and started taking pictures for them, the Lebanese minister stood up and moved to sit in another place.”

Meanwhile, the Israeli newspaper reported that the schedule of speakers was modified to avoid coincidental meetings between the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Lieberman.
