Iran warns Turkey: Our patience has limits

Iran yesterday warned Turkish officials “to watch their words about Iran” adding that Tehran’s patience has limits, foreign ministry spokesman said.

“Turkeys is one of our important neighbours and it has enjoyed much of our assistance, especially after the failed coup,” Bahram Qassemi told reporters in a press conference in Tehran.

“We hope that they speak about Iran more wisely to not make us respond. We will be patient with Turkey but patience has limits,” he added.

On Sunday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu accused Tehran of destabilising the region by trying to make both Iraq and Syria Shia states.

Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Cavusoglu said that Tehran must cease its continued disruption of regional security and stability.
