Saudi Arabia spends $137.6 million a month on jobseekers, a survey released today by the Saudi Human Resource Development of the Ministry of Labour revealed.

78%

    of Saudi women are unemployed

The report pointed out that there are currently 258,000 jobseekers in the kingdom, 78 per cent of them women.

Riyadh is attempting to remedy this through invoking a “national transformation”, by providing 450,000 jobs for Saudi citizens with the aim of creating at least 1.2 million jobs for Saudis.

Saudi’s Vision 2030 aims to reduce the unemployment rate among its citizens to seven per cent by 2030.

The current unemployment rate stands at 12.1 per cent.
