Iranian teachers strike in protest at tough living conditions

Iran witnessed demonstrations in the country’s various cities yesterday involving thousands of teachers who demanded improvements to their conditions, Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported.

On Wednesday, teachers called on all educational cadres in country to proactively participate in yesterday’s demonstrations, which are being organised with the aim of increasing salaries.

Protests swept into eat Azerbaijan, Khuzestan and Tehran provinces.

Near to the country’s parliament located in the Iranian capital Tehran, teachers protested demanding their salaries increase, as well as an overall improvement to the government’s education system.
