Kuwaiti security forces have uncovered drugs to the value of $1.6 million in the Central Prison. Prisoners had tried to smuggle the drugs in after attending their court hearings.

Kuwait’s Al-Anbaa newspaper quoted a security source today saying that the security men yesterday uncovered 25 sim cards, two bags of pure heroin, two rolls containing drug substances and a white bag containing drug substances. All of these were uncovered in a hiding spot located on the bus transporting detainees from the prison complex to the Justice Palace and were found by the court security department.

The source added that the uncovered materials were not limited to the aforementioned objects, but also included 12 capsules found in the defendant’s docks in courtroom 16. They had also found a roll of drug substances on the floor of the Central Prison, under the feet of the prisoners before they left for the Justice Palace.
