The Islamic-Christian Commission for Supporting Occupied Jerusalem and Holy Sites warned on Monday of the latest calls by “so-called Temple Mount groups” to invade Al-Aqsa Mosque on Thursday, ahead of the Jewish festival of Passover.

A press release by the commission said that the daily incursions by Jewish extremists, protected by the Israeli occupation forces, are part of Israel’s plans to Judaise the Noble Sanctuary of Al-Aqsa ahead of destroying it and building the “so-called Temple.”

According to the head of the advocacy group, Hanna Issa, the Israeli occupation “insists on violating the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque.” He called on the international community to put pressure on the Israeli authorities to stop “violating houses of worship and to commit to the terms of international law, mainly the Fourth Geneva Convention.”

Issa stressed that Israel continues to desecrate Al-Aqsa Mosque before the eyes of the whole world, and plans to control the mosque and turn it into a place for Jewish worship.
