A Qatari medical delegation arrived in the besieged Gaza Strip this morning to perform a number of Cochlear hearing implant surgeries for 22 Palestinian children in collaboration with the Palestinian Ministry of Health and the Palestinian Red Crescent.

The delegation was escorted by the Deputy Head of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, Khalid Al-Hardan.

The surgeries will be completed at Al-Quds Hospital managed by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Gaza. This is the second time such operations have taken place in the besieged enclave.

The delegation will also check up on children who had undergone surgery in February.

More than 2,400 adults in the enclave need cochlear implants; there are also 1,252 children who are in need of the operation.
