Russia denies launching gas attack on Syria’s Idlib

Russia’s Ministry of Defence said yesterday that its aircrafts had not been involved in any attack in the Khan Sheikhoun town in Syria’s Idlib, where a suspected gas attack killed scores of civilians, the majority children.

More than 100 civilians were killed and 500 injured in a chemical gas attack launched by the Syrian army’s aircraft in Khan Sheikhoun in Idlib, according to the Anadolu Agency.

The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights accused Bashar Al-Assad regime of carrying out the attack on the opposition-controlled area.

Syrian opposition Health Minister Firas Jundi told a press conference in Idlib that missiles containing “poisonous gas”, adding that the death toll was feared to rise.
