Daesh has executed 33 people aged between the ages of 18 and 25 in the Al-Mayadin desert near Deir Ezzor in eastern Syria, making it their largest mass killing this year.

Activists for the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights were able to monitor the execution, which took place on Wednesday, reporting that the victims were killed using sharp tools. It is unknown whether they were Syrian government forces, allied militia or rebel factions.
