A British woman in her twenties was stabbed to death in Jerusalem according to the Guardian.
The attack took place on the city’s light railway, not far from the Old City during Passover. The alleged attacker was arrested at the scene and was described as a 57-year-old Palestinian resident from occupied East Jerusalem and is known to be suffering from mental health problems.

There had been a stark increase in Israeli forces around holy site in the Palestinian territories due to the Passover festival.

Israel has imposed severe restrictions on movement on the Palestinian community over Passover including closing off the occupied West Bank and besieged Gaza Strip. This caused disruption to the lives of thousands of Palestinians who legally work in Israel but were left unable to travel to work.

Muslims were also banned from accessing Al-Aqsa Mosque for prayers yesterday as settlers stormed the compound.
