Over 3,000 Yemenis held in Houthis prisons

More than 3,000 Yemeni detainees continue to suffer in Houthi prisons, the Sana’a-based Association of Abductees’ Mothers reported yesterday, noting that the group runs 484 prisons.

According to a report by the association titled “Human Rights Violations in Yemen”, the Houthis arrested some 3,928 people in total.

The report pointed out that the abductions continue to be committed against Yemenis, explaining that the whereabouts of 160 enforced concealment cases have not been identified yet.

It said there were 818 cases of torture in prison including 99 in which the victims were “tortured to death”.
