The paper reported the London-based Al-Hayat newspaper saying that Jordan warned Lebanon about the expected Israeli strike on the margins of the Arab League Summit which took place at the end of March.

The newspaper noted that the Jordanian warning was not the only one, but global superpowers and UN Security Council members also expressed similar fears to Lebanon.

Those powers called for the country to avoid any arbitrary military action in the south, referring to Hezbollah whose positons in Syria had been exposed to several Israeli strikes.

Al-Hayat said Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Al-Hariri had travelled to the south of the country to meet with Hezbollah in an effort to ease tensions.
