Iran: ‘Israel should be disarmed to stabilise region’

Israel should be disarmed so peace and security can be restored in the region, Russian news agency Sputnik reported Iranian Defence Minister, Hossein Dehghan, saying today.

Speaking to Russian media, Dehghan said:

Given the history of the Israeli regime, we only see wars and bloodshed. Thus, Israel should be disarmed. After eliminating this regime, we can restore peace and security.

A military source from the political administration confirmed that one of the military sites, which is located in the southwest of Damascus International Airport, was attacked today by several Israeli rockets fired from within Israeli territory. This resulted in explosions in the area that have led to some material losses.

A Syrian military source denied reports by some Arab and Western media that the Israeli air force targeted weapons stores owned by the Lebanese Hezbollah’s in the Damascus International Airport. The source insisted that what was raised about Hezbollah’s weapons is just a failed justification for the Israeli aggression.
