South Sudan is actively working to “undermine the security and stability” of South Kordofan and the Blue Nile, the Head of the Security and Defence Committee at the Sudanese Parliament, General Ahmed Imam Al-Tuhami, said,

The Sudanese Media Centre (SMC) quoted Al-Tuhami saying:

South Sudan met support of the Sudanese government and people for its citizens with further coordination with the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement – North (SPLM-N) to undermine the security and stability at South Kordofan and Blue Nile.

Al-Tuhami has described the meetings between the South Sudan government with leaders of the SPLM-N sector in Juba as “a flagrant intervention in Sudan’s internal affairs”, adding that Sudan takes into account the suffering of the South Sudanese citizens who are fleeing in their thousands to Sudan because of the war and famine.

Al-Tuhami added that Juba cannot solve its internal problems and yet wants to intervene in Sudan.

On Monday, the Sudanese National Intelligence and Security Service accused South Sudan of expanding its support for armed rebel groups.

In a statement reported by the official Sudanese news agency, the security agency demanded Juba “stop interfering in Sudanese affairs in all its forms”.
