The Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi and the Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz agreed last Saturday during their meeting in Jeddah on establishing a “joint committee” to boost coordination between the two countries, the Yemen News Agency (SABA) reported today, quoting a Yemeni presidency official.

The official explained that the committee, which is set to be led by Yemen with the participation of Saudi Arabia and the UAE, aims to enhance coordination between the three countries in the Yemeni conflict.

The Yemeni official pointed out that the meeting also addressed the latest developments in “Operation Restoring Hope” in Yemen as well as a number of issues of common interest.

Since 26 March 2015, a Saudi-led coalition has been fighting against Houthi militias and bolstering Yemeni government forces after Houthis took over the capital Sana’a and surrounding areas.
