Local and international NGOs called yesterday for the Palestinian Authority government based in Ramallah to keep the healthcare sector away from political disputes, Felesteen.ps has reported.

During a discussion panel organised by the NGOs Network in Gaza, speakers from local and international organisations cited shocking statistics about the healthcare system in the besieged territory. They laid equal blame for the crisis on the 10-year-old Israeli siege and internal political division and called for an end to both the blockade and the political split, for the benefit of Gaza’s 2 million residents.

At the end of the discussion, the NGOs called for the Ramallah government to resume sending medicines and medical disposables to the Gaza Strip in order to guarantee even the most basic level of healthcare in the enclave.
