Iran has remained unfazed by US President Donald’s Trump’s attacks because his administration has shown willingness to conduct business with it, the New York Times has reported.

The newspaper said that Iran is awaiting the delivery of a fleet of US-made Boeing airliners, the result of two deals worth $22 billion for the American company. The paper added that the most recent contract between the plane maker and the Iranian airline, Aseman, was signed two months after Trump was sworn into office.

Trump, whose campaign was partly based on the promise to revive industrial employment, was not keen to scrap the agreement, which would provide 18,000 jobs in the United States, the newspaper said.

According to the New York Times, it will be difficult for the United States to resolve problems in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen without Iran, noting that the work will open channels of communication with Tehran.

During his recent trip to the Middle East, Trump stressed the Iranian threat and the need to unite regional efforts to confront Tehran.
